SWR – expect cancellations
SWR is warning passengers of disruption on its services from Monday 7 tod Saturday 12 August. This is due to an ASLEF Union overtime ban. Readers may not be aware, but many companies, SWR included, rely on overtime to fulfil their driver rosters.
Somerset services will be effected but SWR are not able to say specifically which ones. For the service from Waterloo to Exeter via Templecombe, Yeovil junction and Crewkerne all they can say is: “Service largely as per usual weekday timetable.” The devil being in the word “largely”.
For SWR services (not GWR though) through Yeovil Pen Mill and Castle Cary, services will be disrupted. A Sunday service will operate throughout the week but some cancellations are expected.
SWR advise all customers to check before travelling. Online information should be up to date at least 24 hours before travelling.
