House fire in Taunton closes road
Emergency services were called to a fire at a house in Taunton at 2am today (22 May). The fire is on Kingston Road near the junction with Turner Road.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are tackling the blaze on the thatched roof of the property.
The house owner is safe.
No other properties have been evacuated. However residents of properties nearby are urged to keep doors and windows closed due to the smoke.
However Kingston Road is expected to be closed for much of the rest of today.
