New rail strikes in Somerset

Rail services in Somerset will be reduced as a new round of strikes has been announced. The Aslef union has announced strike action on Friday 12 May, Wednesday 31 May and Saturday 3 June. The RMT Union has announced strike action that will affect services on Saturday 13 May.
GWR is the company that serves Taunton, Castle Cary, Frome, Bruton, Bridgwater, Yeovil and Highbridge stations. They have announced the following:
- Thursday 11 May – services should run as normal
- Friday 12 May – no services to or from Somerset stations
- Saturday 13 May – hourly service From Bristol to Plymouth stopping at Taunton, Highbridge and Bridgwater
- 14 May – services operating as normal
GWR have not at this stage released a timetable for the strikes on 31 May and 3 June.
SWR operate train services through Yeovil Junction, Crewkerne and Templecombe stations. To date they have been unable to give details of services on Friday 12 May. However on Saturday 13 May there will be no services to or from any Somerset stations.
