Jail for Bridgwater burglar

A burglar has been jailed for more than two years after breaking into a house in Bridgwater. At around 4am on Tuesday 15 March last year, Gregory Scriven broke into a property in Mount Street, in Bridgwater. He was accompanied by three other people who Police have been unable to identify.

Once inside, they assaulted two occupants of the property and made off with some of their belongings. That included a set of car keys, which Scriven subsequently used to drive off in the occupant’s car.

The victims sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Scriven, 41 of Wick Road, Brislington, was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court to two years and four months in prison. He pleaded guilty to dwelling burglary with violence. Along with the custodial sentence of 28 months, he was also ordered to pay £190 in victim surcharge.
