Inadequate and in special measures

It is going to make tough reading for the school management, staff, parents and students. Huish Episcopi Academy has been braced for a damning Ofsted report. Now we have news that it will be published on Monday.
The Academy was previously rated as “Good”. Following an inspection during which pupils reportedly shouted abuse at the Inspectors, it has been rated “Inadequate”.
Overall effectiveness was graded “Inadequate”. Every sub category bar one was also rated “Inadequate”. The only crumb of comfort was that Huish Sixth was rated “Requires Improvement”, the grade above “Inadequate”.
School management have acted rapidly to address the situation. Working alongside the Department for Education’s Regional Director for the South West, Hannah Woodhouse.
The medicine prescribed is that the school be folded into a multi academy trust. Interim leadership was brought in from the Midsomer Norton multi academy trust.
A new Interim Headteacher, Nat Parnell, has been appointed. Mr Parnell is a Regional Director for United Learning, an “extremely strong national Multi Academy Trust with a superb track record for school improvement”.
Mr Parnell has a strong track record as a Headteacher and will lead the Academy until August 2023.
The process has already started to find an outstanding Principal to take the school forward from September 2023.
What a shame. It was a wonderful school when my children were there around 2000.
It was Outstanding before being Good and now ……..
Perhaps this slide should have been noticed way ahead !
What will happen the staff / persons in authority who allowed this to happen to a once fine school , they seem to be not fit for purpose so should not be allowed to ruin another educational establishment
