SWR announce strike day services

South Western Railway (SWR) have announced their plans for strike days in November. Strikes by the RMT Union for better pay and conditions will take place on Saturday 5, Monday 7 and Wednesday 9 November.

SWR have confirmed that on strike days there will be no service between Basingstoke and Exeter St Davids. This means no trains calling at Crewkerne, Yeovil Junction or Templecombe stations. There will also be no service on the Wessex Line between Westbury and Yeovil Junction. That will effect stations at Frome, Bruton, Castle Cary and Yeovil Penn Mill. However we have yet to hear from GWR who run services through those stations as well.

SWR say that services on Sunday 6 November and Tuesday 8 November trains will also be disrupted. The first services to run will start much later than usual and will be very busy – please avoid them if you can.
