SWR strike update

Following on from our piece on GWR, SWR have now also published their strike timetable. For Somerset it is brief and to the point. There will be no trains running from or through Crewkerne, Yeovil Junction or Templecombe on either Thursday 15 or Saturday 17 September.
SWR warn against travel on Friday 16 and Sunday 18 September. They say that due to the impact of the strike days, customers are urged only to travel if absolutely necessary. First trains will start much later than usual across the network and are likely to be very busy.
UPDATE this evening (8 September) on the news of Her Majesty Elizabeth II’s passing the planned rail strikes were postponed.
A statement from the RMT union confirmed the news, with general secretary Mick Lynch saying: ‘the RMT joins the whole nation in paying its respects to Queen Elizabeth. The planned railway strike action on September 15 and 17 is suspended. We express our deepest condolences to her family, friends and the country.’
