GWR service disruption due to strike action

GWR are warning of service disruption from Friday and into next week. Planned industrial action by the RMT, Aslef and the TSSA unions will severely affect trains across the GWR network.
On Friday 12 August trains will run to timetable with minor changes. However GWR warn that they expect services to be very full and advise booking in advance where possible.
On Saturday 13 August there will be no GWR train services running from the following Somerset stations:
- Taunton
- Frome
- Castle Cary
- Bridgwater
- Highbridge
On Sunday 14 August services will continue to be disrupted. GWR warn that you should only travel if absolutely necessary. In particular the London to Plymouth route which passes through Castle cary and Taunton will run a reduced timetable.
GWR expect to operate a normal service from 15-17 August.
On Thursday 18 August a significantly limited service will operate. GWR advise you only travel if absolutely necessary. Please note that there will be no service on the Heart of Wessex Line through Frome, Bruton, Castle Cary and Yeovil Penn Mill.
On Friday 19 August trains will continue to be disrupted. Again you are advised to make alternative travel arrangements and only travel if absolutely necessary.
On Saturday 20 August again there will be severe disruption with no services between Bristol and Exeter. There will be no services on the Heart of Wessex line again. Overall trains will start later and there will be a reduced level of service throughout the day. Please check before you travel.
On Sunday 21 August trains will start to run later than normal. However a normal level of service is expected.
