Somerton & Frome MP has whip withdrawn
David Warburton, MP for Somerton & Frome, is reported to have had the Conservative whip withdrawn. The Leveller® understands that the Conservative Party have suspended his membership of the party.
Two days ago Mr Warburton’s twitter account vanished.
The Daily Telegraph claims that a complaint has been made to the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme. This is a service that looks into misconduct by people within Parliament. However we have been unable to verify if this is the case.
The Whip’s office did confirm that Mr Warburton MP has had the Conservative Party whip removed. This is while the investigation is completed.
Mt Warburton has served the Somerton & Frome constituency since 2015 having been elected on three occasions. The Leveller® has contacted Mr Warburton to hear his side of the story.
The Times seem to have ‘the dirt’ sadly. Messy.
