A303 crash near Tintinhull

Avon &Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses after a two vehicle collision on the A303.

The accident happened yesterday (Friday 17 September) at 9.45pm. It was near where Queen Street joins the A303.

A gold Land Rover Freelander was in collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa.

The driver of the Freelander, a man in his 70s, remains in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. Police say he is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

The passenger in the Freelander was a woman in her 60s. The driver and passenger in the Corsa, a woman and a man both in their 20s. All three were treated for injuries. They are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

The A303 was closed in both directions until about 7.50am on Saturday 18 September. This was to help emergency services attend and to enable examination of the scene and recovery of the vehicles.
