Busy Yeovil road to close in evenings

Somerset County Council have announced that the A37 will be subject to closure during resurfacing work. The Highways team will close the Dorchester Road in Yeovil during the evening to “minimise disruption”. The road closures between 6pm and 7.30am will run from 31 August to 6 September. So you can expect quite a lot of disruption at the start of the morning rush hour and end of the evening one.
Whilst the work is on a relatively small stretch of road, it will cause disruption. The closure starts just to the north of where Fairhouse Road joins the A37. It then runs on past Hoopers Lane and the closure ends just to the south of where it joins the A37.
They tell us that during the road closure a suggested diversion route will be clearly signposted. However no advance notice of the diversion is being given. Details will not be available on the website until the road works start. Which does make planning an alternative in advance a little tricky.
