Accident in Wells

Avon & Somerset Police are appealing to the public for witnesses following a serious accident in Wells today (4 August). A 79-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in Sadler Street at about 12.50pm. She had to be airlifted to hospital for treatment where she remains in a serious but stable condition. 

Police say the accident was the result of a three car collision. A blue Mercedes, a white Citroen dispatch van and a red Citroen C3 Picasso were involved. The road was closed for several hours while an investigation was carried out at the scene. The vehicles were recovered and the road has since reopened.
