Othery dognap death

There has been a spate of dognapping incidents around Somerset since the New Year. It is something that tends not to make the news as being a bit trivial. Perhaps more so with a pandemic raging. For pet owners though, it is obviously very distressing.

However Avon & Somerset Police have released information about a disurbing incident at Othery. On Wednesday 24 March, a 10-month-old Cavapoochon, was taken from a house in the town on the edge of the Levels. The theft was believed to have happened some time between 9.30 and 11 in the morning.

The puppy has since been found dead by a member of the public on Beer Drove, off the A372. The Police are conducting house to house enquiries. they are also reviewing local CCTV footage.

They are now appealing to the public for information. Were you in the area around the time of the incident? Did you see anything suspicious? Did you see people in the area who you had not seen before?
