Yeovil drugs arrest

Officers from Avon & Somerset police raided an address in Yeovil on Sunday night (14 March). They were acting on a tip off that the house was being used to supply drugs. They were also concerned for the welfare of a vulnerable resident of the property. The man was in his 40’s and Police feared his house had been taken over by a drugs gang. A process known as cuckooing. Drug dealers use violence, exploitation and intimidation to take over the home of a vulnerable person. The man was powerless to stop the dealers using his house.

They found a teenager inside the property with large quantities of cash. They also found a stash of what they believed to be heroin, cocaine and cannabis. The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and possessing Class B drugs. He has since been released under investigation to allow further enquiries to take place. We understand the suspect is from the Birmingham area.
