County Lines Arrests in Yeovil
This morning the Metropolitan Police and Avon & Somerset police launched an operation to target county lines. County Lines are the networks that see drugs moved from cities into the countryside. These networks often involve minors to move the drugs and the flats of vulnerable people to distribute the drugs
This morning’s operation saw a series of warrants executed in Yeovil and London. A total of 14 people have been arrested, nine in Yeovil and five in London. The operation saw officers and staff from the CID, Operation remedy working together. They were joined by colleagues from Police neighbourhood teams and operational support teams.
During the raids a quantity of class A drugs were seized.
Speaking on behalf of the operation Det Insp Richard Horsfall explained “This is a prime example of forces working together to dismantle county lines drugs networks with the aim of bringing those involved to justice. We want to send out a clear message to those wanting to set up county lines operations in our area –there will be no safe place in which to ply your criminal trade.”
The Police also thanked the local community for their support. They appealed for anyone who has suspicions around drug-dealing in their neighbourhood to get in touch on 101.
