Burglary and assault in Yeovil
Avon & Somerset Police are appealing for the public’s help after two crimes were reported last week. The first was an attempted burglary at an address in Monks Dale, off Larkhill Road, Yeovil on Tuesday 6 October at about 7.45pm. The offender tried to get into the property by climbing onto a low level roof. He/she then attempted enter through a partially open bathroom window. They were interrupted while doing so by the occupant.
Police describe the offender as being dressed in a black top with long sleeves. The offender fled the scene. Police are also interested in another person wearing a white hooded top who was also seen in the area shortly after the incident.
The victim has been given crime prevention advice by officers. The Police are warning other residents in the Monks Dale area to be vigilant.

In a separate incident the next day (7 October) a woman was assaulted in Seaton Road near to the Chalkes Nissan/Kia garage. During the assault the woman was punched in the face. The incident happened at around 10.20 in the morning. As it was in broad daylight the Police feel sure someone must have witnessed the attack.
The assailant is described as being aged 20 to 30, about 5ft 6ins tall and stocky with black hair. He was dressed in tracksuit bottoms and a blue padded jacket.
The victim was a woman in her 40’s. She was wearing a high-vis top and ear defenders.
