Affray in Frome

Avon & Somerset Police are investigating an incident that took place in Frome, yesterday afternoon (5 October). The incident took place in a property on Marston Lane, on the south side of town. Police were called and attended at 4.45pm after a man was reported to have a machete and an imitation firearm.

The man had left the scene before armed police arrived. they found an injured man at the scene. However his injuries turned out to be relatively minor and he did not need hospital treatment.

The Police helicopter was deployed to search the area for the attacker but he could not be located. However the Police are continuing to search and carrying out enquiries in the area.

The Police have told us they believe the two men knew each other. They are fairly sure this was an isolated incident and is unlikely to pose a risk to the wider public.
