Chard Robbery – witness appeal

Avon & Somerset Police are appealing to the public after an armed robbery in Chard. The incident took place on Friday (11 September) at around 10.30am near Mitchell Gardens.

A man in his 30s was attacked by two unknown men one of whom threatened him with a knife. The men fled the scene with a large quantity of cash. Both men were white, the one who wielded the knife is described as slim with ginger hair. The second man was around 6ft tall, aged 33-40, of a large build with large spots or birth marks on his neck.Ā He was wearing a blue winter style coat, grey tracksuit bottoms and was carrying a Tesco carrier bag.

The Police are looking at CCTV footage in the area but are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone who saw what happened, or believes they may know either of the individuals, is asked to report it online or call 101 and give reference number 5220206311.
