Bridgwater together event is on

They are a brave bunch in Bridgwater. It is not that they do want to take risks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because they are not. More that they are prepared to use Zoom. The video conferencing tool has not had the happiest of experiences in Somerset. Especially after the red faces all round at South Somerset District Council last week. If you want to read that sorry tale you can do so here https://leveller.live/2020/04/08/zoom-but-no-oomph/

Hopefully in Bridgwater audience members will not be tempted to photo bomb the event. Better still the organisers will no doubt have learned from that experience and have trained IT staff on hand to help.

Bridgwater Together will go ahead with its annual event celebrating the Somerset town’s vibrant cultural diversity. Rather than cancel the event the organisers will host it using Zoom between 6pm and 8pm on Saturday the 18th April. Audiences will be able to log in online to presentations and performances.

The event celebrates the diversity of the town through music, food, story-telling, dance, film and information sharing. It is supported by Bridgwater Trades Union Council, Somerset Film, Unite the Union, Hidden Voices, the TUC and the Hinkley C Community Fund.
