Mendip Cancels Meetings
Mendip District Council has followed the lead taken by Sedgemoor earlier this week.
In a statement released this afternoon they announced “Following updated government guidance with regards to the Covid-19 virus, Mendip District Council will now be cancelling meetings until further notice.”
The Council assure us that everyday/routine business will continue, but by virtual and technological means.
You are encouraged to contact them via their website www.mendip.gov.uk or by telephone 0300 303 8588 and not come into the council offices unless absolutely necessary.
All visitors to Reception at Cannards Grave will be asked to follow hand sanitising procedures.
As to the politics of council business they tell us “Alternative arrangements for democratic processes are being actively considered across the sector and we will publicise these once we have more information.”
