Cash and drugs haul in Taunton

At 9am yesterday morning (Thursday 20th February) officers of Avon & Somerset Police raided a house in Taunton.

At an address in Haydon Road, they seized what they believe to be class A drugs with an estimated street value of £10,000. At the same location they found large cash, “drugs paraphernalia”, knives and a stun torch.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned with the supply of class A drugs and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

Police discovered that the arrested man was out of prison “on licence” and he has been subsequently recalled to prison.

The Police want to reassure neighbours and also ask for witnesses. Sergeant Andy Gloyn told us  “We would urge any member of the public who believes they have useful information about the supply of drugs in their community to come forward. Those details are vital and enable our officers to target suspected offenders and make our neighbourhoods safe.

Anybody with information can call 101 or report it through the force’s website.
