Somerton’s ArchiesXtra Trailer stolen

Before you ask,;what is ArchiesXtra? Archies is a project that works with young people giving them someone to talk to, access to a social worker, warm drinks and biscuits and things to do as well. The idea is that the Archies trailer goes somewhere central in town once a week, but a place where young people would regularly gather anyway. It has been successful in Martock, Somerton and Langport.
Unfortunately the ArchiesXtra trailer in Somerton has been stolen with everything in it. The trailer was parked up on the Bancombe Road Industrial Estate when it was taken. It really is a small minded and heartless crime.
It has left the Archies team stuck. Their work revolves around the trailer.
They’ve had lots of donations including mugs, footballs, first aid kit, and even a fire extinguisher to date. All very useful for what they do and they are really grateful for those donations. But what they now need is a trailer to put them in.
Any offers of help/information would be gratefully received by team, as they want to be able to continue working with our young people and offering them a safe space to come to. In Somerton that is on the recreation ground.
Do you have an old trailer that could be used to store the Archie’s Xtra supplies in or an old horsebox that we could adapt for serving refreshments from?
They would like to be back on the rec with the young people especially now that the nights are starting to draw in.
If you have any ideas, please call Judith on 01458 273079 or Alex on 01458 272047, and thank you in advance from the ArchiesXtra Team
