Hinkley by Sea

EdF announced that the jetty built to take in supplies for the construction of Hinkley C became operational for the first time this week. The first boatloads of material have already been in by sea.
This is good news for long suffering residents who live anywhere near the A39. Road transport to the site is unlikely to stop completely, but Hinkley C claim volumes of traffic will now start to reduce.
Speaking for Somerset County Council, Cllr David Hall, Cabinet Member for Business and Inward Investment told us “To see the jetty become operational will no doubt be welcomed by residents and road users as it allows EDF Energy to keep their vehicle numbers as low as possible.”
