A 16-year-old boy was walking along School Road, Monkton Heathfield at around 8pm last Wednesday, the 3rd June. Near the end of the road he was approached by two men who appeared out of the footpath running onto School Road.
One man punched him, knocking him to the ground and tried to take his bag. The boy managed to regain his feet and run away down a footpath. Nothing was stolen.

One was about 5ft 9ins tall. He had stubble on his face and wore a black hoody and skinny black trousers.
The other was slightly shorter and wore a light-coloured hoody and skinny black trousers.
This is a busy road used by dog walkers and people visiting the nearby Co-op. The Police believe some members of the public will have seen something.
