Avoid A370 at Lympsham
Avon & Somerset Police are asking motorists to avoid the area of the A370 around Lympsham. This is the road that goes from Brent Knoll towards Weston super Mare.
The road remains closed following a fatal collision last night. The collision between a car and a lorry happened at about 5.30pm near the Ferry Lane junction with the A370, close to Hobbs Boat Inn.
The occupant of the car – a woman – was seriously injured in the collision and sadly died shortly afterwards.
The road is currently closed while collision investigators complete their examination of the scene and motorists are being advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
If you are going North to Weston or South from Weston towards Bridgwater you can use the M5 between junction 22 (south of Brent Knoll) and 21 and then the A370 in or out of Weston.
We are working to open the road as quickly as possible and thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
