Hit and run near Frome
Avon & Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident near Frome. They were called to attend an inceident following reports of a serious collision on the A36 at Standerwick Cross, near Frome at about 10am. It happened at the junction of the A36 with the B3009.
There were two vehicles at the scene and a woman had have help to be released from one of the cars. She suffered serious head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
However Police believe that a third car was involved in the collision but failed to stop and left the scene. It is believed to have been a black, grey or silver car.
The Police are anxious to get eye witness of dash camera evidence to help in their investigation. They would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, especially anyone who may have captured the collision on a dash cam.

Meanwhile as at 3pm this afternoon the road remains closed and Police are asking motorists to avoid the area and ideally find an alternative route.
