Wells Victim Named
Avon & Somerset Police have formally identified the victim of Saturday’s incident in Wells. Jonathan Roper aged 34 of Glastonbury died following a disturbance at Merlin Drive, Wells at 4.30pm on Saturday.
Following the incident Police arrested seven men and three women and all remain in Police custody pending the outcome of their investigations.
Detective Chief Inspector James Scott told us “we fully appreciate this incident has shocked local residents and are aware it will deeply effect those who knew Jonathan and his family. We hav eincreased patrols in the area to provide the wider community with reassurance and patrolling officers will be happy to answer any question speople have.”
