Will you stand and be counted?

Represent your community

Our District Councils have now published their notices of election for the District Council elections this May. The elections will be held on Thursday 2nd May.

If you are considering standing as a District Councillor and serving your community, there’s still time for you to complete your nomination papers. Councillors come from all walks of life, different backgrounds, knowledge and experiences help to represent different views, and take a different approach. The more varied the batch of councillors, the greater the collective knowledge the council has to work with. Don’t try and rule yourself out, think about how you might rule yourself in. You do not have to stand for a political party (if you do you must have their permission and be on their candidate lists), you can stand as an independent.

You must return your completed nomination papers by 4pm on Wednesday 3rd April.

For South Somerset the paperwork should be hand delivered to Returning Officer, South Somerset District Council, The Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 2HT.

For Sedgemoor the paperwork should be hand delivered to Returning Officer, Sedgemoor District Council, Bridgwater House, King Squares, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR
