More Commons votes

Last night as you may already know, MPs had two major votes on whether we should leave the EU without a deal or not.

We’ve picked up two of those votes to see how Somerset MPs voted.

The first of those votes was to amend the main (government approved) motion from “declines to approve leaving the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement and a Framework for the Future Relationship on 29 March 2019; and notes that leaving without a deal remains the default in UK and EU law unless this House and the EU ratify an agreement.” to “rejects the United Kingdom leaving the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement and a Framework for the Future Relationship.”

The vote was carried with 311 for and 309 against

Then a motion was put in which MPs were asked to vote on whether the United Kingdom should reject leaving the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement and a Framework for the Future Relationship.

321 MPs voted that they should reject (in favour) and 278 voted that they shouldn’t (against)
