Somerton Town Clerk leaves

Best wishes from Leveller Towers to Terry Philpott who leaves his role as town clerk at Somerton Town Council after the March Town Council meeting (Tuesday 12th March). Mr Philpott has been clerk for just shy of five years having been appointed in July 2014. He is relocating to Hertfordshire where he will be taking on the role at a larger town council.
The town council is reasonably well advanced in hiring a new clerk. Somerton has had a full time clerk in recent years and the role requires someone who is experienced and ideally qualified.
Mr Philpott has helped steer the council out of the maelstrom of the fractious council meetings which followed the mass resignation of the council in 2009. It is almost a tribute to the clerk and councillors that these days meetings are more sparsely attended!
