New Festival for Somerset

One of the great delights of the cultural scene in Somerset in the past decade has been proliferation of music festivals. They spring up everywhere. Once there was Glastonbury. Then it was Home Farm, Chilthorne Domer or the Godney Gathering. Now we have a positive flowering of them. Springing up in towns and villages all over the place, the Bridgwater  Quayside to Glastonbury Calling, from Pitney’s Pitfest and Party by the Parrett in Kingsbury Episcopi.

Now its time to say hello and welcome to the latest addition. An all day music festival in Somerton, to go under the name of Somerstock. They’ve secured a major signing, Toploader as the headline act for the day and the festival will take place on Saturday 13th July to coincide with the Somerton Music and Arts Festival.

There’ll be a lot more details nearer the day but for now it is time to update the music map, another new festival is born.
