Good for coaches

The proliferation of award shows is so great these days. So great in fact that when we get a press release from another that none of us at Leveller Towers has heard of, we are no longer surprised.

Nevertheless the British Coach Tourism Awards are a national award and now that the finalists have been announced it would be churlish not to recognise the Somerset nominations.

Sadly our excellent local coach company’s did not get a mention but Wells and Burnham on Sea did. And with just five finalists across the UK, the fact that two come from Somerset is something to be proud of. Especially as the tourism industry is such a pillar of our local economy. They are nominated for the Coach Friendly Destination Award. A little too late to help support Wells in its bid to be the next City of Culture, but not to be sniffed at. They will face competition from Southport, Bournemouth and Newmarket.

The winners will be announced at a suitably over the top awards ceremony th at the National Motorcycle Museum on 20th March hosted by Carol Vorderman.
