Talking Bridgwater Up
Bridgwater is using the opportunity of Carnival to launch a new tourism brochure for the town. As perhaps as many as 100,00 will have converged on the old royalist stronghold over the past few days, it was the perfect opportunity to get the initiative going. The Tourism Brochure has been put together by an editorial team of Councillors and volunteers from the Town Tourism Forum including Patsy Robinson, Emma Rathbone, Pat Morley, Brian Smedley, Diogo Rodrigues, James Lloyd and designed by Jana Branecka.
5,000 of the brochures have been sent to tourism offices and other outlets around the country and the others will be sent out around Somerset and available at the Town Hall for people to pick up and help promote the town.
It may not always have had the best of reputations within Somerset, but with EdF money flooding into the town, new developments around the historic docks and the routing of part of the England Coastal Path through the town have all helped to improve that image.
In all the excitement, a digital version has not quite made it – the Town Council website is still displaying the 2017/18 version.
