Langport resignations update

Sadly it seems that not a day goes past without a further update on the fallout from last week’s public meeting at Great Bow Wharf, Langport to discuss the Hanging Chapel.

Tonight we have to report that long serving councillor Julia Gadd has also resigned from the Town Council, as has Angela Clarke who many of you will know for her hard work at the Information Centre.

Meanwhile Janet Seaton has also resigned from Huish Episcopi Parish Council too.

It is of course sad to see long serving councillors stand down, but it is a perfect opportunity for those who were so critical of the behaviour of the Town Council to step up to the plate and show the world how it should be done.

There are currently 6 vacancies on Langport Town Council (just five councillors remain in post) and one on Huish Episcopi .

Town Clerk of Langport, David Mears has today published the notice requiring ten electors to request an election by 22nd September. Failing that, the vacancies on the council will have to be filled by co-option.
