Turn Hill update

As we promised, here is an update on the crucial by election in Turn Hill.

The precarious state of balance between the parties in South Somerset District Council makes this by-election one that will be more closely watched than usual. The current state of play going into the election is that of the 60 seats contested in 2015, the LibDems hold 30 seats, Conservatives 25 and Independents 5. Perhaps this has led to some unsavoury rumours that only 2 candidates are standing.

It is not true.

There are emphatically three candidates as anyone involved in the election process is fully aware. They have been declared valid candidates and they are as follows:

Sean Dromgoole (Labour)

Julia Gadd (LibDem)

Gerard Tucker (Conservative)

The election will be on Thursday 24th November with polling stations open from 7 in the morning to 10 at night.
