Christmas Card Competition for Local Primary Schools
David Warburton, our local MP has launched a Christmas Card Competition, inviting local primary school children from all across the 900 square mile constituency of Somerton and Frome (it is one of the largest by area in the country) to submit a festive picture to be featured on his official 2016 Parliamentary Christmas Card.
The winning picture will be featured on the front of the card, with three runners-up featured on the back. The winner will receive a prize and all four finalists will receive a certificate, presented by the MP at their school assembly.
The cards will be sent out by David to community groups, public service organisations, local charities and businesses as well as to the Prime Minster and members of the Cabinet.
David told us “I’m very excited to be launching the Christmas Card competition and I really can’t wait to see what festive compositions our young artists will produce. Judging the entries will be a tough job but I’m hoping to find something unique to adorn seasonal mantle pieces from Somerset to No.10 Downing Street this Christmas!”
The deadline for submissions is Friday 21st October 2016 and the winner will be announced in mid November.
