Body in the water
Unconfirmed reports suggest that at lunchtime today police found a body in the water near the bridge at Langport. There was a substantial police presence in the town and especially on Cocklemoor during the morning and the police helicopter was searching the area around Langport too.
The area between the footbridge and the road bridge has been cordoned off but as yet no formal announcement has been made of either a body being found or of any indication of the identity of the person.
