Burglaries near Ilminster

Police are appealing to the public for information about two burglaries in the Ilminster area on 13th January, 2016. The first was in the Lower Horton area and the second in the Stocklinch area. We understand that the burglars broke into properties and stole jewellery and electricals. A red vehicle was seen close to one of the properties during the time of the burglary and the Investigations Team are very keen to hear from anyone who might have seen anything or anyone suspicious in the area at that time. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a red vehicle in or around the area.

PC Jim Card from Yeovil Police Station noted “Burglary is both a priority for the Constabulary and the PCC. We know that being burgled can be very traumatic and unsettling. We want to try and prevent this type of crime from happening at all and the public can play a huge part in helping us to help them and taking some really simple crime prevention measures can really help deter opportunist thieves. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has information about these two incidents and I appeal to the public to get in touch if you have any information at all about these incidents, even if you think it might be small or insignificant. Sometimes those are the details that really make a difference to an investigation!

If you have information about the two incidents you can call PC Card on the 101 number and quote reference number 5216008996 for the Lower Horton incident and 5216008857 for Stocklinch. Alternatively you can pass on your information via our website or you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers by visiting their website or calling them on 0800 555 111. They never ask your name or trace your call and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
