Ilminster saw a fractious campaign that started off with a dispute over the agenda for the last Town Council meeting before the election. 9 new independent councillors stood for election under the banner “Voice for Ilminster”. In the end 8 of those 9 were elected to the council in a contest that saw 20 candidates standing for 15 places. The full election results are shown below.
