28th March Free security and crime prevention advice from Langport beat team

The Langport beat team will be manning a stand at the local Tesco store on Saturday, 28th March offering free property marking and security advice to help prevent burglaries. Following a spate of opportunist burglaries in the area the police are keen to make sure everyone is taking measures to keep their stuff safe!

Unlocked garages and cars have been selected by thieves in the town and even though one person has been arrested in relation to several recent offences there is still a need to use common sense about locking doors and keeping valuable property out of sight. PC Terri Lines said: “The event next Saturday is a chance for people to improve their home and car security with either some basic advice or having their valuable items marked. It does make it much more likely that any stolen property will be returned if it is marked by the owner, and also helps when we prosecute the offenders.”
