Road flooded Martock Parrett works
Flooding alert – January 15th.
Ironically – the day Vince Cable chose to visit Langport to talk about the effect of the flooding on small businesses, we have more floods! The road from the Parrett Works (outside Martock) to South Petherton was flooded this lunchtime for about 1/4 mile. There were no warning signs and no diversions in place. We have notified the police.
At lunchtime one driver had already become stuck in the rising water. Please drive with great care particularly after dark. The road is impassable in ordinary vehicles and a bit tight for a 4WD.
Thus far there has been nothing on this from the EA, the County Council highways team and there have been no warnings to the public issued by any of the authorities who are supposedly providing a co-ordinated response to flooding.
