Reward offered after firearms stolen in Hambridge
A reward of up to £1,000 is being offered by the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers for information after a number of firearms were stolen from a business in Hambridge, Somerset.
A total of 15 shotguns (12-gauge) and three rifles (a .338 caliber and a .308 caliber) were stolen during a break-in at Rifleman Firearms at about 10.30pm on Tuesday 26 August. No ammunition was taken. Investigating officer Det Con Andrew Tearle said: “We’re aware this burglary may cause concern in the local community but I’d like to reassure people that we’re carrying out a thorough and detailed investigation and have a number of potential leads to pursue. We’ll be reviewing CCTV footage as part of the investigation and we’ve been speaking with registered dealers nationally to ensure they’re aware of the incident.”
Police are especially interested to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious people or vehicles around the premises at the time of the incident or the days leading up to it? Or perhaps you know of someone who has recently come into possession of a firearm?
There is a reward of up to £1,000 being offered by the independent Crimestoppers charity for information given to them via their telephone number 0800 555 111, which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.”
