Tourism workshops planned for the Levels
In the aftermath of the flooding there has been a fair amount of head scratching over hwta to do to bring our local economy back to life. The Levels are certainly on the map as far as the rest of the country are concerned, but for all the wrong reasons. Now that the area does not look like the Great Lakes, more effort is going into how to get people to come here for all the right reasons.
With that in and the Easter holidays fast approaching, Viisit Somerset is working with Visit England and local authorities to support businesses post-flooding with practical information and advice via a series of free workshops throughout the county.
The workshops are aimed at those who have been directly and indirectly affected by the extreme winter weather who are concerned about the impact on visitor numbers for the rest of the year. They are to be held on
March 27, Yarn Market Hotel, Dunster
March 28th, Fleet Air Arm Musuem, RNAS
March 31, Glastonbury Town Hall
April 1, The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare
More information and bookings can be made online at http://www.visitsomerset.co.uk
All workshops run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
